Basement
Despite its name, this massive floor is situated well above ground level. There are no windows, and the hallways are lit by torches. Fortunately, the student and staff bedrooms, which are all located on this floor, are heated in winter.

Ground Floor
The heavy front door opens to a grand entrance hall with high ceilings. On the opposite side are the dining room and kitchen. To the left is the enormous library and to the right are various student club rooms. Stairs on either side lead to the upper and lower levels.

First Floor
The first floor is spacious and relatively light. The outer rooms have actual windows, while others only create the illusion. On this floor, students may find the classrooms for most of their practical subjects, as well as the hospital wing.

Second Floor
This floor is the smallest of the school building, but also by far the brightest, with every room having multiple windows. It contains the classrooms for mainly theoretical subjects.

Waiau Island
This small island on the widest part of Clarence river, accessible by a narrow stone bridge, is the location for most Nature Studies classes as well as first-year Flying lessons. In summer, many students enjoy spending their free time on the island.

Kaikoura
This nearby Muggle town may be visited during the weekends by students in years 4, 5 and 6. Students must wear Muggle clothing and hand over their wands to the responsible teacher at the school entrance.
